After one of the most successful pro junior surf series in recent years, the Oakley Pro Junior Global Challenge is back for its second consecutive year. Once again, in an effort to assemble the world’s most talented young surfers in one place, for one full-on, no-holds-barred contest, this October the Oakley Pro Junior Global Challenge will arrive on the wave-rich shores of Bali.
The 6.0 Lowers Pro sets the stage for stop number 2 of the Oakley Pro Junior Global Challenge, a grade 2 rated junior and the only US qualifier, for the world’s most prestigious Pro Junior competition. Last year saw Sebastian Zietz and Jason Harris take the first and second place US qualifying seeds and a trip to Bali for the final competition of the OPJ Global Challenge series. Dusty Payne’s performance in both the Junior and WQS earned him a wildcard for the final competition of the series, which he ended up winning. The question now is: Who will take home the top two spots and win themselves a trip of a lifetime?

Last year's Oakley Pro Junior winner, Sebastian Zietz, cracks one off the top. Seabass not only won the OPJ event but secured his spot in the Oakley Pro Junior Global Challenge in Bali.
To qualify, the Global Challenge series travels across the globe to some of the world’s most renowned surf venues including North Stradbroke Island-Australia, Port Alfred, South Africa, Hossegor-France, Lowers Trestles-North America, and a whole host of other top surf venues from Japan to Brazil.
The top two competitors from the six designated Oakley Pro Junior events across the globe will qualify for the big dance in Indo. Last year’s competition saw some of the best progressive surfing from the top juniors in the world, culminating in a tube-riding and aerial showdown with Dusty Payne of Maui taking the crown over Marc Lacomare of France.
The Oakley Pro Junior Global championships will take place over a 10-day waiting period in October with four days of actual competition. Last year saw incredible conditions, lending a hand to some of the best junior surfing the world has seen to date.

A little more incentive to come out on top for the competitors of the Oakley Pro Junior at Lowers. Bali perfection
